Four colleagues, two of them foreigners, are new members of the Grupo DX de Cuba (GDXC). The information was released by Roberto Ibarra (CO2KL), secretary of the group in the most recent update. Undoubtedly, more and more are interested in joining the group and in many cases, it is one of its primary objectives since its first steps as HAM operators; such was the case of Boris (CO3DSE), who was very pleased because at last “had achieved one of his goals.” On the other hand, Alexei (CM6ARD), an enthusiastic operator from cienfuegos who had already collaborated with the group during the commemorative transmissions for its 35th anniversary, described his income as “a privilege”. In addition to CO3DSE and CM6ARD, are new members of the GDXC, Jim (WB2REM) and José Carlos (CP6CL). The first is a well-known DXer and DXpeditionary, a member of the joint operation with North American amateurs T42US; while José Carlos is a cuban resident in Bolivia who for many years showed the callsign CO3CL. He is an avid DXer, a Doctor of Physics and currently works as a researcher and university professor. The Cuban DX Group currently has 91 active Cuban and 74 foreign members.
